    Availbility Of E85

Okay, I am ready to switch to E85. Have already got one 55gal drum. However, the closest place for me is 78mi away. Have to carry several drums to the Krogers in Sachse,TX and fill them up at the station. Driving form Paris to Sachse and back is going to make this expensive. Might be better if I could mail order fuel.

Does anyone know a a better way to get E85 in North East Texas?

Last time I went for fuel I could only run my debit card twice for $75. So I will carry cash next time. However, can you buy it already in drums from somewhere? It is a hassle to fill up drums from the pump.

Thanks, I would rather buy in bulk than drive once a month for fuel.

You have never tried talking him in to anything have you? He had a cam for his truck then sold it. So, I don't know where he is at mod wise.

Going to call a local oil company today. Would be awesome if they had E85 but I am doubting it.

how long will that stuff keep well? I used to buy 55 gallon drums of c16 for a customer back when i worked at a honda shop years ago. Dude had like 4 drums at one point in his garage and a hand pump in the drum. lol.. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!

found this for you also on another forum. plastic drums for 5.00 each.

more info on how to make a pump and so forth for it if you are interested..

sorry if i am a bit off topic, i just wanted to help as much as i could instead of just asking questions in your thread.

the race fuel companies tax you almost 9 bucks a gallon on the e98 stuff and the race grade e85 which takes the point out of it.. You can drink e98 supposedly too LOL.. The only reason its not e100 is to avoid alcohol tax.

No problem with your post. All info is welcome. I have really found it hard to find much detailed info on E85 even on the ethanol forums. Seems it is still kinda new to most people.

It should have a longer shelf life than gas as long as you keep the moisture out of it. Think of it this way how many people have drank an old bottle of whiskey that was still good. E85 is just grain alcohol with 15-30% gas in it (summer vs. winter blend).

There is an oil company here around Paris named blankinship oil. I have been having trouble coming up with a phone number for them. Going to try calling around tomorrow to see they sell to the public then if they sell E85. I it is not sold to the public I might just order it through the dealership I work for.
