    soooo close...

I tried breaking into the 13's but couldn't. I need gears and a stall for sure

    799 heads "stock"
    Comp 212/218 "low lift" cam
    HD-2 shift kit
    LPP LT's w/ORY
stock catback but w/a Magnaflow muffler
    27x10x15 Hoosier slick
    stock 3.73 gears
    tuned by my brother RED04REGENCYRST

I've got an issue w/the 2-3 shift hanging up. It'll shoot up to 5800 then drop to 5400 @85mph then shift I dropped the shift RPM to 5600 and it was so so.

I'm new to running a built auto vehicle, I always had manual f-bodies. So I need to work/need help on my shift points and trans settings

Idk that gears are your main problem...I'd be looking at the tune.here a 6.0 with stock intake, clutch fan,3.23s, 80e, has longtubes and it runs 14.2 on 22s in 95 degree weather. 2.2 60ft times. It's not a fast truck but id think your setup would net a mid to low 13

2.12 on slicks seems pretty bad although the 80e first gear isn't fun. I would say with a good stall you will be a lot happier. Dropping your 60ft is going to be key, and I think a stall will get you 13's.
Gears would help a little bit, but 3.73's aren't a total weak spot.
Also I agree that the tune needs some work from the sounds of things.
I would say in order of importance/value.
    1) Get the tune right.
    2) Get a stall.
    3) Gears.

I ran a 13.8 with that cam, but the high lift version with only tune, muffler, cai. And this on a stock converter, but im a single cab 5.3. Those shift points are low, I was shifting at around 6400 rpms.

I think you could get it with a stall, that 60' is weak. I have had a 2.19 60 on 235/75/15 Goodyear wranglers with 3.08 and a open diff. Slicks with a stall should be alot better IMO

He can't go too big with his heads, but your right that cam is small for the motor lots of guys with much bigger cams in 5.3's. Also the difference from 3.73 to 4.10's will good is marginal and not worth it if you ask me. Won't pick up more than a tenth or two. With a stall he will see much bigger gains. I still say the tune needs to be worked out first and for most.

I can't see my truck running any better than a 14.1 in this heat either. I don't have a cam but I do have a stall so we should be a really close race.
