    can you bolt a t56 up to a big block if so would the tranny last. also if its a built big block and carb'ed what would the fuel economy be on the six speed.

    just wondering if possible.
    1991 c1500. 5.3l and 4l60e swap in progress, next paint and body.

    As I recall GM's bellhousings are all the same so it should bolt right up.

    I'd bet you'll break few parts with a well built BBC, but there's all sorts of hardened internals and such for the T56. Vipers run them, ZR1s did, etc.

    They have a 0.50:1 OD as I recall... so pretty good economy if you can really lug it down.
