Today, I recieved my transgo hd2 shift, check valve, Sep. plate, 'vette servo, and the blue assembly glue today. Tommorow I will buy the GM accumulators.
I opened up hd2 kit and I do not think I will be able to do this myself. I am going to call mypersonal mechanic tommorow seeing what he will charge to install all of this. There are just so many parts and I have NO experience whatsoever with the 4l60e.

How much do you think someone would charge to install all of these parts?

    Thanks in advance.

I’m kinda in the same boat. I want to get all this and do the install, but after screwing up the servo install, I’m a little nervous about it.

Yeah Bro, I'm in the same boat you are. When I saw the same instructions I realized how totally ignorant I am

A local shop that I trust said they'd do the Transgo kit for about $150, with servo upgrade closer to $200. Your mileage may vary. He wants me bring him the kit to make sure what I got and make sure what I want to do before he will give a firm quote. One cool thing is that he will let me supply the tranny fluid in addtion to all the parts. Should save a few $$ on the fluid, which will promptly be spent on some other mods I'm sure.

    Good luck.

While we are on the subject, what parts does Allen suggest you replace when he does a tune?

My take is that the main concern is the slush box. It apears you already got the AT cooler and servo covered, but there's some other bit and pieces that will help out. After my short time at this forum, Hit Man X appears to be the main authority concerning this. I'm in the tranny hardening phase myself, so I plan to post a list of parts and guidelines so that others may benefit as well. I'm still torn about a stall upgrade in this phase. It's alot of $$ for a decent new one, and add to to that cost of install, and it adds up quick.

Hitman X has already written a very well post about transmission upgrades. I am not sure if he posted it on this forum though. Here is a link to the thread on another forum.

If anyone needs a list of all the parts that i put in my 60e Ill be glad to give it to them ill just have to dig it up. Hitman X was great ehlp in getting my tranny working again and its awesome and hopefully I wont have to worry about breaking it anytime soon. Also he says to put the 160* thermostat in too. Just the basics are sevo shift kit and thermo after that its up to but get the 93 tune. Hd-2 kit is the best IMO. PM Hitman X if you have any major questions he was very helpful and knows his stuff.

The place I got my servo and cooler from has 2 different kits. The Transgo HD2 for $81.75 and a Transgo SK for $39.50. This is what he says about the SK: This kit corrects the common problems with these transmissions, converter shudder, slip, or burn up; 3-4 clutch and 2nd band failure; rear planet and bushing burn up; 1-2 bump, double bump, slide bump. Along with fixing these common problems, you'll also see an increase in the life of your transmission due to the reduced slippage.

If I don't plan on getting the hot tune and really just want better milage and the E-fans turned on will I need a shift kit and if so will the SK be adequate?

I went and got quotes today and I was quoted $250-$350 from several places. I will hopefully have it installed by sometime next week.
