    how big can i go?

Alright guys, need some advice. Lookin to get new tires and wheels and I'm not sure how big I can go. I've got a 2 inch lift in my 2004 RCSB z71, right now with BF Goodrich Mud Terrains 285 75 r16. My boyfriend tried on his tires, which are Dick Cepek Crushers 305 70 r16, to see if they would rub, and I'll probably have to trim the bumper, but it'll work. I found some Ballistic Off Road Jester wheels I liked, but there 17x9 and they might be too wide...I'm looking at procomp, dick cepeck, mickey thompson, or even sticking with bf goodrich for tires.

I'm trying not to spend more then $1,500-$1,800 for both.

What have you guys done? I want mud tires, but I do a lot of highway driving so I gotta keep that in mind...

You're going to be hard pressed to get wheels and tires in the budget you're looking for. I'd stick with a 33x12.5x17 with the amount of lift/level you've got. You should be just fine with a 17x9 wheel, the stock wheels are actually a x9 IIRC, the problem you'll run into is if you start to run a different offset. In general, keep the offset close to stock, run no bigger than a 33 and you'll be set to go!

I got confused. Do you want 285's or 305's? Both are 33's BUT the 285 is actually a smidge taller but skinnier. Obviously the 305 is a smidge smaller but wider.

    I got my 285/75/16 General Grabber AT's for $170 a tire. 4 tires plus 80 in ship was $760

Leaves plenty of room for wheels. Remembering that offset is key.

Hell, i have some black cragar soft 8's 16x8 w/5'' spacing that i ran with stock chrome chevy centers on. Just saying Might sell em.

Edit: I was blabbering about 16's and see that you want 17's. Any real reason to switch?

stockers are either 16x6.5 for the steelies or 16x7 for the aluminums. even in 05, the 17" stockers were only 17x7.5
00 FRC - just top end, exhaust, and a hot-air intake

Miracle if you ask me, guess their all gentlemen here.

I Got 33x12.5r20. Just raised the front torsion, and stuck them in there. Also trimmed the plastic part like 2 inches and some of the A-arm. TAD BIT though

I like the Pro Comp Xterrain on my jeep and most everything else i lift.... You can wait for a deal threw 4 wheel parts on buy 3 get one free... but i have been able to get 30-40K miles out of a set TONS of road miles and they have very little noise.... I like them alot and they have a great warranty threw discount tires... and they still have the very agressive looks

thanks for all the input. I'm lookin at these rims:

    http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Price

Price is right for me, but I'm still unsure if I can fit 17x9 rims.

Tires I'm still on the hunt for, 305s, everything I want is at least $250 a tire, I'm lookin to spend like $200 per...
