It's been one of those days...

My girlfriend went to work at 5:00 this evening. At 5:40 I get a call from her saying she can't find her wallet. Her car keys are attached to it. From 5:20 when her boss left to 5:40, someone walked into the back of her work to the lockers and stole her wallet (including social security card) and keys. We weren't aware of this until 6:10 when we get a call from her bank (I was already on my way there to meet the locksmith to see if she left it in her car). That was the first charge (800$ at Dillard's, the store next to hers). She called the police and I went to Dillard's. By the time they had looked up the register and such it was done on it was 6:30 Another call. 6:28, Walgreen's, 409$. The bank had already stopped payments on that card, but through her work she is paid on a separate debit card. By 8:00 when the police were done filing their report, over $2000 had been charged between the two cards. Not to mention the other employee there who had her card only stolen and $800 charged to it. I'm not sure how much has even been charged at this point. The bank with the second card cannot stop the card until the morning. I got a hold of Walgreen's and Dillard's both and they have them on camera.... two African American women in their 20's. My girlfriend said the store was extremely slow and she didn't see any people "of color" enter the store. This leads me to believe that someone FROM HER WORK that knew where the lockers were stole it and gave it to someone else. The retail store she works in has NO CAMERAS at all. Less than a month ago they had $500 stolen from the register (luckily my girlfriend was not working) and did nothing about it.

Okay, so needless to say, I had to have her car towed to my apartment because she is scared they're going to steal it. Now, I'm in a predicament. I can listen to her complain and complain or I can put out the money to change her locks and ign cylinder.

Also, thanks to these people I have to dip into my SAR fund to pay for replacements for the car parts/keys, social security card, drivers license, house locks, and the tow bill. I also probably have to take care of the bills for her car, insurance, and phone that are auto drafted from her account in the next week.

Needless to say, if I am MORE of a dick than usual, forgive me.

With the people on camera it wont be long till they are caught. If the police only half ass do there job the dimwits will attempt to use the card somewhere soon. And it will be declined so they will cause a problem at the store. Someone will get there name.. etc.. etc.. Also the money charged to the cards will be replaced so she should be ok as far as her bills go. And Also my opinion the store she works at should be at fault being there is no means of security over there personal belongings
