My new truck is missing something?

I finally found that new Z71 I wanted with the 5.3 alum block and autotrac. When I got home I noticed that there's a place next to the ash tray that looks like it should have had a plate or something covering it. It's maybe 4" x 6". Is this normal or is there something missing?

I believe the hole you are talking about is where if you had the electronically controlled shocks switch would be or if you had quadrasteer

What year is it and is it an LS model?

It's a 2005 Extended Cab with Z71 package, autotrac but no quadrasteer.
It really looks like there should have been a plate or something covering it up

Is it just a pocket with like a little rubber mat "thingy" in it if so thats where the stuff goes that i described in most trucks it has the airbag on off switch
