Any tips for my 1st time at the track???

Taking my truck to the track for the first time tomorrow. Any advice from any of you seasoned track guys? I plan on rolling into the throttle to see how she hooks on the street tires. I know if I try to launch from a decent RPM I'll just spin.

I'm running on 20" BFG KDW's so I know my traction will not be great. Just takin her out to see what she has. Wife will have the video cam so hopefully I'll have a clip worth posting.

    Just a few drivetrain specs:
    5.3, TR 220/220 5xx/5xx 112lsa
FLT 4l65E with PI 3k stall
    4.10 trutrac
Hotchkis TVS 2-4 drop with sways

    Any input would be appreciated.

I wish it woulda been that good.
My first run, I stalled it up to abot 2200, running the normal 35 psi in the rears and spun bad which gave me a 15.31 @88.7 mph.
Second run I rolled into it from about 1500 rpm and spun but not as bad as the first time. Managed a 14.88 @ 95.
Third run I dropped the tire pressure to 25 psi, heated the tires a lil more, and rolled into it from an idle, chirpped the tires through the 60' broke traction on the 1-2 shift. Got a 14.90 @ 94mph.
Fourth was my best run, heated the tires really good, stalled up to 1200, spun a little, feathered it, let it catch, then floored it about half way through the 60'. Broke loose a little on the 1-2 shift, but I stayed in it.
    4th run was:
    ET:..... 0.524
    60'...... 2.184
    330'.... 6.023
    1/8..... 9.188 @78.25
    990.....11.834
    1/4..... 14.248 @95.98

Only thing I'm happy about is that the S/C stang that I was lined up against for my best run, ran a 15.05

    5th: 14.5@ 95
    6th: 14.3@ 95

Granted, this was my first time at the track, but the prep must been less than great. It seemed like no one was getting traction. Maybe it was the fact that it rained for dang near 24 hrs straight the day before... IDK, I'm a novice. Does my best time seem legit for what the truck has done to it? All-in-all, it was a great day, wife and little one actually enjoyed it.

Yeah the KDW's suck ass. I made a pass in them and win full boost came in it put me sideways and I was looking at the wall. No more street tire runs for me.
Those runs of yours arent to bad.

I didn't think they6 were horrible... there was a lightning runnin arond the same times on DR's. My winter wheels are gonna be on the truck shortly cuz I'm down to the wear bars on the KDW's. My winter project is to get some lighter 16" steelies with some decent street slicks. Also, I'm gonna work on some appearance mods... PC'd wheels, painted front chrome, and color match the tailgate handle. I Also found out I may be deploying as a VIP Driver to the sand box... so we shall see, might put a few things on hold.

My very first run I glitched and staged with the rear wheels, at least you didn't do that.
