Just one question
can I just reuse the master cylinder that’s on the truck now or do I need a one from a hydroboost OE truck?

Yes, you can use the one on your truck now. At least I did on my 2001. Bolted right up and works great.
If you need any hoses or other parts for this conversion, let me know . I have 2 full sets of hoses.
i wasnt able to use my master, but my truck is a manual truck. so I think it had a diif one. all the auto trans trucks that i have seen do the conversion used the one they had.

just my luck, I went into napa this morning (well before reading this) and ordered the 2 high prs. lines and it came to around 70.00. thanks all for the info about the master.
one more question. is getting a hydroboost unit with less miles on it better or is 100,000 miles on them nothing?

So me and my father installed/converted to the hydroboost today as a father and son kinda thing and alls I can say is wow, braking is next to effortless. We installed it a little different then the guys at gm full size and performance trucks did it
variations:
1: didn’t remove the power steering pump I could access the rear fitting from the bottom
2: didn’t install new brake pedal, used 12 ton press to press out the stud that the vac booster connects to re-installed pedal to mock up the location of new hole (about 1.5 inches above oem vac hole) drilled it then weld stud in place
total was 118.32 for everything (hydroboost, 2 new high pres. lines from napa, 3/8 t, 4 feet of 3/8 line,4 clamps and 2 courts of power steering fluid*)
* but only used one
priceless moment of the day was when after we bleed the system and my father started it up for the first time and pressed on the brake pedal and says "nope, something’s wrong it presses to easy" as I’m under the hood watching the high pres. lines move and hearing the motor drip rpms due to the stress on the power steering pump.
thanks for all the help and input guys
good mod for the cash
