well i put the 350 in the truck back in october of 09 but the wife wanted it done cheap and fast so i reused my 601 heads from the old 305 with hopes that with a spring and valve seal change id be ok.....wrong. since ive had it together with the new setup ive had nothing but problems with smoking but could never figure it out. i want to change the valve springs one day and found that i had some valves not seating so that made me decide to get my spare set of 416 heads redone. i had them shaved .020 new rocker studs i had my springs i bought that are good to .550 lift put in and a 3 angle valve job. the pistons in the motor are 26cc dish thats why im using such a small cc head btw :p used felpro shim gasket thats .016 thick and sprayed two coats of copper sealer on them and finished up with new felpro headbolts which i recomend! i also installed a performer rpm intake that i took off the motor from one of my cars when i sold it :p. the cam in the shortblock is the eglin equivilent of the summit 1103 cam .442/.465 214/224 112lsa the truck has long tube headers 2 1/2 y pipe into a single 3in exhaust with a 3in in two 2 1/2 out cherry bomb vortex muffler under the bed. the truck also has a summit racing th350 trans and a 2800stall. i still need to time it and put the vac gauge on the carb but it runs alright to get me around for now.
