    Talking 1st Time Racing

Went up to Lancaster Speedway last wednesday (7/14) for cruise night and to see what the truck would do. I pulled out the right headlight, folded in the mirrors, opened the tailgate and lined up in the staging lanes. First race was the quickest of the night, 10.95@67mph vs. a 2 door Grand Am V6/Ram Air with gay looking aftermarket heads & tails. I absolutely killed him. Either the guy couldn't drive or there was something wrong with his car, I had him by four truck lengths by the end. Second race I ran 10.97 against a new V6 Malibu with a Borla dual exhaust system and HID's on it, I got spanked. Last race I ran 11.00 vs. an F150 ecsb work truck with an intake, exhaust, and an Edge thing on the dash. He was all talk in the staging lanes but i killed him too.

Lancaster is a 1/8 mile track. I had my girl and my cousin with me in the cab all three times. I was running on my 285/75R16 Mud Dawg Radials on stock aluminum wheels. I figure with all three of us, the tool box and the full tank of gas the truck should weigh around 5400 pounds. I have zero wheel spin when I launch. Are these times good for what little I have done to the truck?

oh wow i would have thought low 10s high 9s! what gear does it have? i guess you did say you had a full load in the cab but still. what elevation are you at? i ran a 10.54@67mph with just an intake on my yukon xl at 1500ft above sea leval and low 70-high 60deg temps. get some runs with just you in the cab and have at it again.

I googled it and Lancaster is at about 750 feet above sea level. I have 3.73 gears and it was probably 80 or 85 degrees that night. I kind of thought the truck would be faster too but there some Camaros not running much faster than I was.

I don't think it was very humid. I'll have to make a couple runs with an empty cab this week and see.

What was your 60' how did you launch it? I say try again and see what happens. I ran my yukon and pulled 2.3x 60's and that thing is a boat.

I have only run a 8.98 in the 8th with what I have done. I am only getting 2.1-2.0 60 fts too. I would say not bad for all of the weight and tires.
5.3, small cam, 918 springs, 7.4 rods, walboro pump, Full built 4l60, 2800-3000 stall, TB spacer, long tubes, cat delete, single 3" exhaust with Aero bullit muffler. Flaco tuned.

This is what annoys me about Lancaster, they don't give you a slip or anything. The only way to know your time and speed is if you have somebody in the crowd watching the big boards at the end of the track. I have have no clue what my 60' time is. My iPod has a dyno thingy in it that can estimate one but its nowhere near as accurate as the light beam things at the track.
