Are there any tunes out there for v6

I have a 2000 short box step-side 4x4 Chevy with the 4.3L v6 and an auto tranny, and was wondering if anyone makes a handheld tuner for this motor, and if nelson performance has a tune that would be worth getting for this truck? Right now the truck feels like it's holding back until you get it past the 3000 rps mark. Any help is greatly appreciated

    Thanks,

NP can tune it, don't even look at a handheld, waste of money. I guess you are yet to find the V8 swap thread yet huh?

Yes, Nelson can do it... they tuned my 97 with a 4.3/4L60E and it definitely livened it up... well worth the money IMO, if you don't plan on doing a swap anytime soon.

Thanks, I'm gonna call them up and see what they can do. I actually found this site looking how to do a v8 swap on this truck and I would do the v8 swap, but just don't have the time, or ambition to do it at the moment.

Understandable, if you do get a tune and decide you want to do a swap down the road, it won't cost you anything to get a retune for the new motor I don't think... unless you go crazy...

the pcm's are different so he would need to tune the other pcm.

    best tune for a v6 is a v8 lol j/p
'02 Silvy: Z71 EC Step Side 5.3L Nelson tuned
2013 GMC Acadia: SLT1 Carbon Black
1976 Corvette Stingray: Trying to save it, progress is slow.
