Question need advice for my bus

you all may not know but i have an 08 CCSB. i swapped in a cammed 6.2 in front of my 60e. i am running a 3200 stall, an 3:42s. my truck has a best of 13.0 @ 103.8

i know if i run caltracs itll help my 60' plus itll help traction on the street. what is it worth? .1-.4??
i can run DRs all the time, but how are they in the rain? i really love my M&H DRs, just need a 29.5" tire vs my 28". so thatll help with traction.

another thing is im running 1 3/4" LTs, into 3" single exhaust. im thinking of running a 3.5" tail pipe out of the muffler. if not ill just swap in a 3.5" peice straight back so it looks like a denali tail pipe

im not willin to spend a grand on an intake bc i dont race my truck all the time. so what will i really see from getting my intake p&p, an my TB p&p? is it worth the 400-500 w.e they charge.

im also thinking of adding a 125 shot for the strip an those pesky ass sport cars that are gonna whip me lol.

i have 4:10s waiting, but on the 30+ races are the 4:10s worth the swap? the 3:42s pull longer than the 3:73s, 4:10s. so should i swap, or stay with my 3:42s or a 3:73...

any advice will help, its not a DD anymore but i want to be able to drive it anywhere and not worry about the trucking being a PITA as a DD.

lemme know your opinions please, any help would be great.

    Thanks

sorry about not getting back to you in pms, anyway now that i know your game plan hers my thoughts, go with the 4:10s you'll luv them plus it will get you your 12 sec pass, dont bandaid the tire situation with a larger tire, fix the suspension to plant the size tire you have, take mine for instance i run a 4:88 gear and still run a 28" tire yeah i still spin on the line but not much its more in the bead then on the track.cal tracs will help even with the new gear swap and less tire.. i dont run drag radials so i cant officially help ya on that one.. i wouldnt waste the money on porting anything, hook the juice up and let her fly

heres something to think about, if you move up in tire size for traction youre depleating the purpose of the gear size ( swap )

the only reason why i wanna go to the 29.5" bc i was going to run them on the street and the track. i was told go 4:30s but i already have 4:10s.

imma have to throw the juice on it
i can get the 12.9 pass in cooler weather but i want it to run 12s in the heat too you know?

im just wanting a fast DD family ride lol. this will be the last truck unless it gets stolen or wrecked beyond repair.

im upgrading to a 2 peice drive shaft no matter what.

A 4.10 gear alone will put you in the 12s on the hottest day. Traction will clearly be an issue from a dig, with that steep of a gear. The caltracs will help, and I agree with skeet. Don't up the tire size for traction, you'll effectively reduce the gear ratio in doing so. My question to you is, what gear and rpm do trap at right now?

on 28" M&H DR i trap in 3rd at like 5k or so.

the only reason why i want the 29.5" DR is bc im planning on running on DRs all the time. unless we go on long distant trip then ill throw a different rim on.

all my street races are 25-30mph then some at 55-60 but i dont run past 100 on these 3:42s an the 1 peice drive shaft.

I think you won, and that was sweet! Even with a taller tire on the street, when you put the 4.10 gears in you're still gonna spin. The street is hard to hook on when you make that much power in a truck. You can always start with the gear swap, and caltracs with the tire you have on now. If you wan't to swap tires later, then so be it.

i need tires either way, they are 265/70/17s so theyre not wide at all. i could run a shorter tire on 3:42s but theyre arent many choices. i seen a 265/65/17 thats like 30.1" tall which would allow me to run a 29.5" DR in the rear without having it too noticeable.

this is what im wanting to run 24/7 on the CC, my 28" DRs are just like this but the ones for the 16" rims. it doesnt spin like my stockers do, even on 30psi it hooks just fine.
