    Any of you guys got a . . . . . Prius

Well I know I know a prius is super ghey. But what kinda realistic milage do they get?
    How do they ride?
They are getting cheap and considering I spend roughly 350 a month on high octane. . . . . .. . . Well you get the idea.
Can you change the radios on them?
    Install a viper alarm system?
I rented a corolla recently and it got 42mpg on the hwy.

Ok let the bashing and what not commense.

    Thanks

Get a TDI VW, my brother gets about 62-63 mpg in his Jetta and it's still loaded and well it's not a Prius. My Moms Passat gets around 55, again fully loaded and not a Prius. Hybrids are for uninformed tree huggers.

my friend had a prius for a rental car, it couldnt get out of its own way. he would floor it and it would speed up slower than a bicycle. realistically, it would get about the advertised mileage. my recommendation, do what devin suggested (cant believe i just said that) and go for a TDI or something similar.

They cost 10k more than a corolla or prius vw dub is out. Honda is too expensive also.

I agree, I've never driven a Prius, but TDI's get amazing gas mileage. I work for a company that travels the U.S. inspecting power plants (lots of driving) and several of the employees have diesel cars, they seem to do really well.

Edit: Just saw your last post... in that case, go with a Prius...

My homie has a Prius with 30k miles on it (bought it new) and its already got misc. problems with the electrical and the synergy drive system doesnt kick on as smoothly as it did new. The car is nice when BRAND new but will cost you more to own one in the long run vs Corolla (repairs are horribly expensive). On the highway he averages 47mpg while city averages 30-36mpg depending on the outside temp (strange I know).

IMO the Corolla is a better buy or even a VW Rabbit would be a good purchase, I have another friend with a VW Rabbit averaging over 38+mpg on the highway and city averages 25+mpg.

fun fact...if you run out of gas in a prius, you need a special machine to jump start it. There are like 12 in the country, and they get fedex'd from dealer to dealer as needed.

my uncle ran out of gas TWICE the first month he had the car lol

but he LOVES it...he wants to get a newer one with the solar panel ac or whatever.

I am leaning toward the Corolla. I have to rent a Camry today and my knee hits the stupid console in it. I might drive a prius since the rental place is a Toyota dealership. I don't like the high cost of repairs. That is another reason to not get a vw. I have to think a whole lot mroe about it but a Corolla seems to be a solid idea. The payment would be less than I pay a month for gas. . . .Gotta talk to the Mrs. about it also.

Ive got me a nice little honda accord I picked up. An 04 with like 96k on it for $8600. It gets 30-35 depending on how I drive it. I do have to fill it up once a week though because I drive so much. A corolla would be a good option.
