    Hey Guys,

I was somewhat satisfied with the 12.3 I ran last friday, mph was down at 106mph. I knew there was something going wrong. HP was a little low too, even for a Superflow dyno, it was 383hp/387tq.

I always wondered why my truck produced boost instantly and the turbo felt like it was always "ON". I removed the cats today and one was like a big rock tumbling around in the casing, doh!
After I got them out and replaced them with straight pipe, I dynoed it again.
HP was up a lot, 408hp, (can't remember torque, but it was above 400too).

The truck feels great for what I have in it.
Well, I'm more than pleased with the results from tonight!

    1.73 - 60'
    11.99 @ 110.16mph

That's what I was hoping for!

    Mods: '94 regcab, stock 6.0L, 5psi STS, 3200stall, 3.07gears.

Now that the 11's are accomplished, it's time to install the cam, 10psi, and intercooler that have been sitting for a while. My goal is 10's.

The time was with a very weak launch, the slicks aren't holding. When I really boost and launch hard, I just spin and get kind of sideways. I think if I had bigger slicks and could launch hard, 11.8's would be no problem.

    see ya online,

    allen

What in the hell are you doing up so late, lol????

Thanks jeff, it feels very strong and all i can say, is lets get those damn cats off when you're ready for yours, you won't be dissappointed, the turbo wants free flowing, no back pressure at all!
The truck feels good now, i can't wait for 10psi!

    thanks,

I wonder if I should just gut the cats or loose them all together. I think they look under the truck during inspection to see if there are still there. I'm hoping since it is a 1981 sooner of later they will just stop checking at all for emissions. I'm sure this engine without cats is way better than the carbed 305 ever was with the big ugly cat it came with! Anyway getting rid of the cats when we do the turbo sounds good to me!

The truck is a lot louder now without the cats, but it feels great, it just opened up the engine and allowed it to breath. It's loud, haha, but I like it.
We can open up the casing, remove the cat shit, then weld it back up with a pipe through it, i thin it'll look stock that way.
    hurry up with your turbo!

    see ya soon,

Wow, over 20rwhp by dropping dead cats! Pretty stout gains. Time to get that IC, more boost, and that cam... should really rock.

    Hey Allen,

Congrats on your new time, I hope to see you soon for the 4L80E swap.
I also need to see your truck run. So I can hurry with the turbo.

Congrats Allen, You should get 10's no problem. I'm hoping to get some new times next week. I'm fixing the exhaust manifold leak this weekend and I installed my boost controller this week. I did some 8psi runs and my IAT's never got above 80* and it was 50* outside. I'm hoping for some 13's but i'll have to do some weight reduction. I sure don't want to out weigh Bud8's 6300# pig. j/k
