    05 GMC Duramax??

Hey guys, does anyone know if a 05 GMC Duramax would be a good truck to buy? Or what do you all think about it? Does it has the 6 speed Allison or still the 5 speed? Only thing I know is that it has 109000 miles it is 4wd and it has a 6.6L engine.. Any advice?? Thanks in advance!!

Duramax is a great truck. Go for it. Tons of available mods. Tuning, intake, exhaust just to begin with.

full 4" exhaust that removes cat, k&n intake, and the Banks 6 gun just because its safe and makes good power.

i LOVE my lly, it will have the 5 speed allison they can be converter to a 6 speed though. as far as performance i just went 13.3 @ 99 the other night look in the sig at my mods i went 13's with a stock trans. Id start off with exhaust (i like my 4'' mrbp straight pipe) but what ever u get, get front pipe back to get rid of the cat, you might wana keep a muffler mine drones like a mofo. I would not go with the k&n intake, check out SB intakes its what i have they are a good price and one of the best you can get or you can modify the stock air box and see the same gains. Also look into efi-live there are plenty of tuners out there that can send you tunes check out duramaxdiesels.com macrat will sell you efi live and give you 2 free tunes from my understanding. theres also alot of other guys on there that will tune through email. Also a lift pump i have the airdog 165, its alot easier install compared to the airdog 150 and i like it better than the fast lift pump.

you will also need this if you want to tune it

And yes i am going for low 12 with my mods you can see 12's easy i just need alot more tuning done im still basically stock psi
