There is a guy here locally who has an '02 Sierra 4x4 5.3L (T) Motor 140k, he said I can have the Motor, PCM, and wiring harness for $800 and I have to pull it. I can even test drive the truck before I pull it out.
Or should I piece it together? I'm going to call other salvage yards today to get prices on the harness and PCM but what would be the better route?
There's this salvage yard, that has an '03 Suburban 5.3 (Z) motor for $500 with a 90 day warranty, 156k on the dash.
I'd prefer the Z because of the Flex Fuel and that was the point of my swap in my OBS is to be more fuel efficient on a budget.
So my question is really...should I piece it together and hope that I get every part and not forget anything? Or just go ahead and pull everything out of the Sierra? I don't think I have very long on my current motor sounds like a midget is under there with a hammer.
Thanks in advance !
Also if anyone know where I can get some 5.3 Z motors for cheaper than that please let me know!
