Does anyone out there have any expirence with MAC cold air intakes? I am thinking of getting one for my denali. I had a K&N on my last sierra however the filter and heat shield fit the denali but not the tube ( due to the larger radiator) Well i am getting rid of the k&n. I like the Look of the MAC, I have heard good things about them but wanted some imput. Thanks

I am not sure about the intakes but I know lots of people that are very very unhappy with Mac headers and exhaust...if you can try and get some dyno results from someone that has tested it that is your best bet on making a dicision.

i had mac cold air on both of my trucks...only reason it's not on the '04 is i took it off for the sts turbo...it was a great mod for the '04 as i could tell a big differnce when i installed it...did not make a good mod for the '02 because it already had chevys hd air intake on the truck...

if my boy doesnt hurry up and install the aft cat mandral bent magnaflow system for the hd's on his truck...it's gonna be for sale...

i've got one on my 02' 4.8...i love it...if i were you though, i'd opt not to get the chrome/polished pipe..it heats up very quickly, and well...who the hell wants hot air.

Yup, their catted exhaust systems are junk. I had a set of their cats die in < 5K mi. Headers don't fit well nor do the intermediate pipes.

Alas, for random parts... like mandrel bends, starter tubes, etc. Not bad.

LAST - the Flowpath muffers sound awesome. A totally distinct sound.

From a engineering standpoint the theory of metal vs. composite intake tubes is very subjective. At the rate air flows through the intake tube under acceleration differences in tube material will cause only a minimal difference in tube temp, let alone air temp. I have seen numerous tests that show very very minimal difference in IAT between metal and composite.

Oh I agree, the metal intake tube won't make much of a difference... or at least not that I'd think of.
