    small questions

I am new to LS motors and electronic transmissions and have some small questions.
    1. I put a 2800rpm stall in my truck. Do I say goodbye to good gas mileage?
I was driving the other day and thought "Theres no way this thing could get more than 12mpg - its over 2000rpm constantly!"

    2. My truck has DBW with TAC. Do these "learn" sort of how the pcm learns? Can they be adjusted in a tune? It seems very inconsistent like sometimes if I make a minor adjustment with my foot at the pedal it will make a major adjustment at the throttle body. Also, sometimes it has idling issues. Could an IAC or TPS sensor be messing up?

    3. Is there only one 4L80E tuning calibration for all years of 4L80E?

I realize these questions might be worthy of their own threads respectively but I figured they were probably easy questions for you guys and it better than flooding the forum with little threads.

Did you get the tune before the converter? If so I'm sure he needs to make adjustments for it.

    1. I know you're having issues with your trans, it could be slipping, over 2000rpms isn't bad. most 80e converters are looser than their advertised rating, at least all mine have been.
    2. i think you're just getting used to dbw. also, depends how you have that foot pedal positioned in the truck/floorboard. be sure your foot is steady and you're not at an akward position, just a thought. most don't complain the throttle is too sensitive, it's usually the other way around.
    3. YES.

    1. I don't really think it's slipping. Although, power delivery IS very inconsistent. Sometimes when I punch it it pops a wheelie(j/k) and scares the shit out of me and then sometimes it's just kinda the same as the old tbi. Anyway, I was just wondering if those of you with stall converters are still getting good mileage? Many folks on here talked me into putting a stall cnverter in my truck saying that they don't even notice theirs when driving around gown. YA RIGHT! I can't pull away from a light without someone thinking I am tryin to race them. And I just don't see how it could get good mileage since it's always high rpms. No street manners that I was sold on.

    2. Hopefully I do get used to it. While driving, I just don't see how it's a good idea. It's a poor relationship between the driver and motor. Also, sometimes my truck gives me that lean feeling like when I back off the throttle a bit it picks up acceleration. ??

    3. Well I figured there was but I'm trying to diagnose this problem and I'm not really getting anywhere.
