    LC-1 installed but..

hey guys, I just installed my LC-1 wideband and the XD-16 gauge.. My question is, how in the heck can I do my readings?? I mean with the truck in idle the gauge reads 14.7 air/fuel ratio, but when I hit the gas, that thing goes crazy and it is just to fast to be able to read it... how does it work? or how can I do my readings to check that everything is doing fine during a race?? cause I will be spraying 75-150hp and I want this thing to do what I bought it for.. to keep me out of trouble..

Hey, i answered your other post, hope that helps.

but here is something to go off.

the wideband sensor has to be hot/warmed before it will start reading correctly, so the best way is to turn the key on and let it get nice and hot before you start trying to read the a/f ratio.
when you start the truck, the pcm is in OPEN loop, so the a/f ratio is going to be on the rich side when cold and below 140degs or so, and for the first 30secs or so. that is completely normal and it's like choking a carb engine, it has to run on the rich side until you get going.
once it's warm, the pcm will enter CLOSED loop, the ltrims will start working and the o2's will start giving feedback to the pcm for a/f ratio adjustment.
you will then notice that a/f ratio is going to try and reach 14.7 or so. this is normal. also, a wideband reads better with a constant stream of exhaust going across it, so at idle, don't be bothered that the reading is bouncing all over the place from 13 to 16, that is normal.
once you're cruising, the a/f ratio will be a little more consistent.
there is a thing called DFCO, the pcm will cut fuel under decel and the wb will read LEAN or off the chart, that is normal.
under wot, a/f ratio will read around 12.5 to 13.0, this is normal and acceptable.

also, don't be fooled by one reading and expect it to be the same the next, nothing against what you bought, but i hate the lc-1, i have several laying around here and hate them, they are always all over the place and a pita to use, well sometimes, and i hate calibrating them, hahaha, that is just me though.

    later,
    allen

I used to like the AEM, cause they were cheap but the sensor isn't replaceable according to AEM.
so, we've been using the PLX for some time now, and they work great.
plus, no calibration and sensor are replaceable.

i use this for local tunes, it's my portable wb, it's a nice piece!

and of course the FAST wb unit, with dual inputs if i need it.

im gonna recalibrate mine this afternoon, its bouncing all over the place right now, between 13-16, and is reading real high, under normal driving, this all started when it rained real hard the other day, still drives fine tho...ill recalibrate it and go from there i guess
