    LS1 intake

    How hard is the swap on a 99 5.3, to remove and install a stock ls1 intake, is it worth buying the intake for 50 bucks.

    General consensus is that the LS1 intake would be a down grade, but the LS6 intake would help out.
    Search "LS6 intake" . There is a detailed thread about the swap.

    Not worth it.

    317s would kill your compression ratio.

    thank for the help. the guy i went to see today just had some parts laying around so i thought i would ask. whats the difference between ls1 intakes and ls6 intakes, how would the ls1 intake be a down grade, i am just wondering.

    what about an ls1 throttle body, worth even the effort to swap them out over stock.

    Pretty sure it's the same size as your stock one.
