    Finally got my truck back

My baby came home Saturday. My buddy does awesome work on trannies. He is a GM master tech and builds alot of the local drag racer's trannies. He put new red clutches, new wide carbon bands, removed and installed, and flushed the whole system for $450. Thats parts and labor combined. I can tell that they bumped up the stall a bit at yank. It was a 2800 but is suppose to be a 3000 now. I am just waiting for the 150 mile break in period to be over so I can start tearing it up again.

Cooo. Having a newly built-up tranny and a new converter underneath ya is a good feeling. Almost like that teddy bear I sleep with at night...

hahahah break in period, i remember when greg built my trans, i put in a new 3600 yank and within the first 2 miles i hit a 200 shot on it, maybe drove it 5 miles total. Put it on a trailer and the next "breakin miles" was put on one 1/4 mile at a time at last years truck shootout. Virgil said it best, if i pay that much for a converter and cant go hammer on it right away, i dont want the damn thing.

Yeah after it being down for almost 4 months I was ready to get it back. Hopefully changing the cam again and changing the heads does't keep it down longer than a weekend. Maybe with all these small nickle and dime mods I have I'll crack in to the 14's. lol
