    tape in the tank...

ok today i was getting some progress done with the 5.3L swap in my 82 c10. i bought a new filler neck for the gas tank. i taped the tank where the filler tube goes so trash woudnt get in. today i was removing the tape to put the filler tube, and a piece of tape fell in the tank. will it cause any problems? the intank pump has the filter sock. i dont really want to drop the tank again.

Gas will dissolve it over time, I dont know how much your pump will pull but the ball might become a clog and you could go wicked lean all of the sudden, or it may be heavy enough to just sit at the bottom of the tank and dissolve.

Nice! I would never have thought about using a vacuum.
