new injectors???

i got a 2000 silverado with the 5.3 in it. i got it camed, intake, nelson tune and shorty headers. don't plan to do anything else in it but gears which i just ordered. is it worth putting injectors in it.. read a little about it but don't know if its worth it

You should be just fine. You might keep your eye out for some 8.1L truck injectors. I paid $24 for my set I used to have.

You're right on the edge from needing and not needing them. I wouldn't worry about it unless you find some for a good deal.

Or some flex fuel injectors, 36# instead of the stock 24#

have your truck scanned and the injector duty cycle logged. This will let you know whether you need to upgrade or not.

Yes, he would need to update the tune for the different size injectors.

Regular 8.1's are 32# and the marine 8.1's are 42#.
