    Trailblazer Converter behind 4.8

I am going to do a performance rebuild soon on the 4l60E and want a converter at the same time. I know a lot of people like the TB converter on the 5.3 and 6.0 motors, but will it help as much on a 4.8 with less torque? The reason I ask is the trans kit is going to be pretty expensive already and the TB is only around $200 vs $350 and up for aftermarket.

Sure, get the verter from a TB with the inline 6 cyl. if you want to save some coin... it's a nice upgrade vs. stock

That's the goal, it's hard to go fast and pay for school at the same time. I can get the I6 converter cheap from work, just wanted to make sure it would be worth it. I know the bigger motors (6.0) typically give a higher stall and didn't know if my 4.8 would benefit much. Are there any negative effects?

Welcome to the site. Who are you???

Yean man--the verter from the I-6 TB is the best. Behind a decent V8, it will stall around 2300-2400 rpms.

Before u buy a tb stall atleast check out ls1tech.com for around a 3000 circle d, yank, or any other good companies...
I got my Circle D slightly used from a guy switching to a 4l80 that just needed the verter gone and I got a very good deal!

tb stall behind a 4.8 seen 2k. not enough torque of motor to really see the true gain

I swapped one into a 5.3 with mods and even at bargain basement price he paid for the unit and no labor, it was not worth the effort from what I hear. A reworked TBstall by Circle D is probably yet another issue all together and is probably worth the effort.

I run the Circle D TB verter. I love it. Their customer service is second to none. go for it.

im with nate...not worth it in my RCSB with a 5.3, i can only imagine its really less noticeable with a smaller motor

    There's my example

A C-D rework is another story as described above.
