    My cam thread

Ok so I was gonna go with Allen's new kit, but the trucks a DD and honestly I can't afford to find all the weak links to have a reliable 500 horse DD. So plan B: Cam and bolt on 5.3

Leaning towards a GMPP cam, because I get a really good price on them so the Hotcam is a little small so I think I've settled on the Stage 2 Hotcam specs are:
    227/239 @ .050
    551/551
    108 LSA

Here's a video clip YouTube - gm performance parts stage 2 hot cam

So my question is, is it too much for a DD?

Wow...that LSA is huge. Not sure if that would bug me as a daily driver or not. I tend to think it would.

Moze I think you're right, I'm just thinking with my wallet. Even the Hotcam is on a 110 I think, not too DD truck friendly, but they sound very good.

Wish I could make up my mind keep flip flopping back and forth, you guys suck had I never joined this site I never would've got into this mess.

Dont think with your wallet or you'll never get anything done. Do things right the first time and get a custom cam.

I think that cam is way to big for a 5.3 and DD and also you need a big stall but this coming from turbo guy.

Do the front mount, your going to have to do all the supporting mods anyway. Why half step it?

Probably will now that I think about it, so I guess I can rock a stock LS6 cam and manifolds for now, chances are that'll blow the 3500 to smitherines anyway (or not, I've seen Dakotas pushing 500+ through them)
