Well I need to pass a sniffer :(

My wife and I are moving to Washington state in the next week or so thanks to the economy. Anyways their emmision laws are more strict than down here in east texas and that's my problem. So I have the pacesetter lts w/ory and I can not find out how to get a cat on each header. I've been fighting this crap for a while and I'm almost to the point of buying some kooks or dynatech since they are stainless and have a catted "y". So has anyone fit cats on the pacesetters and if so I would like pics or should I sell my setup and spend the money one new stainless headers that will never rust in the salty conditions? And I need a 3in collector or I would just by obx. Does anyone else know anymore options for a good set of legal catted longtubes without spending $1500. Thanks

Screw it....just buy one cat and put it in after the Y...I would think that it would pass just fine with that?

When you move there, you would have to have state patrol do the inspection before you will be able to register it. It will also depend on the county you move to as to how strick they are. If on the coast, Kitsap county is not a sniffer county and I believe Chelan county is as well. Its been a few years, but I can make a call and find out how it bad it is. What county are you going to move to?

I believe it's pierce county. Yeah my wife is from there so she is the on that told me how bad they are about inspections. I just don't wanna get lotslot of trouble as soon as I get there. Let me know

I don't have my stock cats anymore and if they have any questions about the truck with the pacesetters then they could check it at any time so I need to be legal

I also talked to a couple of people about doing just the one cat after the y but it wouldn't get the cat hot enough to perform right especially with the cam.

I will be able to call here after I leave the office and let you know. Just put an ad in the wanted section for complete stock exhaust if you have to until after you do your inspection.

Thanks man. I'm just tired of messing with exhaust so I only want to do it one time and be done. And I will be driving it there and it's around 2300 miles so I wanna get it finished before the trip.

I made the trip from Bremerton to San Jose in 10.5 hours. Next morning packed up and moved out here and made it to Clear lake in 23.5 hours, I know its a lot of miles... I took 1-5 south, then I-10 west till I got to 45.

Ok, in Pierce County you will have to go through the sniffer. If you guys were to move south of Tacoma, you would be fine. They still dont do the sniffer in Kitsap and macy counties. You will need to get cats back on the truck and have to have it tuned for passing the inspection. He said the tuning out there for that would cost around $150. My advise would be not to register it there if you cant move to a county that doesnt have the sniffer..

Look in the Dallas phone book for Lorentz Automotive in the Lewisville area. Ask for Mack. Tell him you want something that will pass sniffer and visual and remind him of a silver 06 SSS he did in the spring. It won't be cheap but won't by $1500.
