    Transmission LEVEL WHAT?

I hope someone here give me some light on this level thing....

Every vendor says they have Level this and that...but at the end, dont know what that level means?

if Level 1 for a 60e goes 100=tq than oem, then level 5 what?

    Who writes those standards?

Now a wise guy told me than a 80e stock+ shift kit will hold 700HP/650TQ to the flywheel ( I see Redheart coming to the rescue here)

So if anyone can clarify me...I will really appreciate it

Probably some of the best transmissions out there are the SuperDuper Level 100.
    They cost a lot though!

An 80e will hold in your light camaro, what is it, 3000lbs or less, NA?

Ok, here's my best try at it:

Level 1 - no more than a shifkit and servo, all fresh parts.
Level 2 - shiftkit, servo, upgrade bands, all wearable material upgraded.
Level 3 - maybe some hard parts upgraded, and all above
Level 4 - better drum, pump stuff, and all above
Level 5 - good input and output shafts, 5 pinion planets, and all other goodies
Level 6 - made up hahaha
    Level 7 - more promises
Level 8 - one more than Level 7
Level 10 - top dog, but still not enough if you need this one.

There are just too many variables and it all depends on the builder and the parts he chooses.

Here's what I suggest, don't run a 60e+ in a heavy truck with more than 450hp to the wheels. But on the flip side, I've seen L5's break with less.
Some have success with these, others hate and convert.

These weak transmissions seem to hold up in cars better than trucks.

80e's seem a lot harder to break, maybe due to their simplicity and larger parts. A lot more of us truck racers have had luck with the 80's.
For those breaking the 80e's, good job, you're making power, or suck at building them, haha jk.

80e's have their limitation as well, that's why I run the tried and proven PG in my racetruck.

every tranny vendor has their own rating system for their trannies. one vendors level 2or3 could be what another builds as a level 1. you have to find out what goes in each level built for each vendor to be able to compare apples to apples. i know this doesn't completely answer your question but that is the only way to answer the question in the end.

Exactly. They all have their own standards. It's up to you to compare them and find out which one is best for you.

Weight coupled with high power is what seems to really kill these transmissions. That's why they seem to last much longer with more power in cars.
