    Tire question

I was looking at tires to be mounted to a 17" or 18" wheel that is probably 7-8" in diameter. The ET Street Radials I am looking at say that the approved wheel width for the 28x11.5x18 is like 9.5-11.5", and then the approved wheel width for another size (27x10.5x18) of the same style tires is 9.0-10.0". If I use the first style, will they even fit onto my rim? I mean I am running 28x11.5 slicks on my stock 16" wheels.. would I have a problem with the other ones?

personally i would stay with some stock rims, any after market rim besides custom made are gonna weigh a ton vs. stocks. but if weight isnt a problem then go as you plan. either way you should be fine on what you choose, personally i would look into a 26" tall tire since youre turboed and your gains are up top not as much as down low

I thought a bigger diameter tire, would be more beneficial with up top mph then a smaller diameter?

So a tire recomennded for a 9.5-10.5" wide wheel will be fine on a 7-8" wide wheel?

Might lose some tire to pavement contact, maybe.

    But they will go on

David, there are plenty of guys running 28x11.5x16 drag radials and slicks on the stock 16x7 aluminum rims. It's not optimal, but many have done it. My next go around I'll likely be going with the 28x11.5x16 Et Streets on some stock 16x7 rims.

well, when it comes to mud tires....

8'' rim minimum for 12.5 wide but a 10'' rim is ideal

But people have put 11.5 wide (285) on stock 7's with no issues
