Exclamation 4.3 to 5.3 dbw questions?

Im doing a 4.3 to 5.3 conversion on a 04 GMC 5-speed 2wd sierra here in a week or two and i just had a couple questions that the sticky does not seem to cover. To start the motor is a 01 suburban 5.3, i will be changing the intake manifold to a 03-04 setup with the drive by wire so it will match the GMC's wiring but retaining the 01 fuel rail setup with the return system. First off has anyone done the Drive by wire conversion yet? Is the wiring contained in the engine harness or is it part of the dash harness and is there any other modules i would need for this. Second has any one done a v6 to v8 swap using the v6 5-speed manual trans assy. Can i just get a v8 5-speed flywheel, clutch and flywheel bolts and make it work with the v6 trans? Any help would be great, Thanks!

go on performancetrucks.net look in the classic section its titled "dads lsx conversion" they used a dbw set up his name is brad i dont remember his screen name. i think i remember seeing someone using a v6 5 speed but they suggested them to use one that was behind a 350 or something.
good luck with the swap man, i have a whole list of AN fittings from summit if your redoing your fuel system. youll need a 2000 vette filter, russell fuel line conversion fittings and few other fittings.

Yea its my friends truck, your right is is dbc but the 04 5.3 swap that is going in it is dbw and that is why i have to convert to dbw. I was looking at it last night and it does not look hard to do at all.

honestly its easier to install the drive by wire setup that matches the harness and the truck (year wise) rather than re-wiring the drive by wire plug with new connectors for the TPS and IAC! You would also have to change some of the pins over at the junction blocks and try to get some one to put in a pcm map for the dbc setup if you went that route. The dbw conversion is very simple, the tac module comes with the new engine harness (if you have them pull it that way) and then you just need the gas pedal module/sensor and the short harness that goes between the tac and the pedal. You'll also need the TB obviously. This makes adding cruise control a snap also. Hardest part is welding two studs on the floor for the pedal to mount to!

could you use the dbw harness and just use a dbc intake and throttle body?
