Driveline clunk- sick of it- ideas?

    Hi All:

Can anyone offer up some suggestions on how to get rid of the driveline "clunk" I experience on low speed, low torque 1-2, 2-3 upshifts?

It started around 30K, I've got 77K now. Dealer said it was "normal wear" and that the tolerances build up down the line from the trans, transfer case, and rear end. I guess so, but my buddy's 03 Tahoe 4WD doesn't do it... Any ideas?

What are you driving? Might help to put a little more info about the vehicle in question so that people will know what you are talking about.

A common clunking problem is the output shaft of the tranny to the yoke of the drive shaft play. Remove the drive shaft and put some grease in the splines of the drive shaft yoke. Reinstall the drive shaft and see if that solves the problem.

Thanks for the tip. Since I have a 4x4, should I grease anywhere else?

Lifted. Yep, grease the snot out of the yoke. Mine did the same, angle is severe so it jams.
