clutch line question!

I have a 92 F/S that had the 4.3 with a 5 speed, and i put a carb'd 6.0 with a T56 behind it. My question is how to adapt from the trucks original master cylinder to the T56 clutch line.?

you might think about getting a newer master cylinder or something. the one from my 98 SBRC 4.3 5 speed fit perfect into my t-56 slave cylinder. i just had to remove it from from my NGV3500 trans without ruining the line and it was a perfect fit, bled the slave and its worked perfect.

does the line go into your M/C with a little roll pin to keep it snug in there?

yes my original line is held held on the master cylinder with a roll pin, but the original line is a hard pre-bent plastic line.

Wtfan, did you do the drill mod on yours? if so, where do you drill? is it where the plastic connects to the m/c or where the plastic meets the braided line?

nope cant say i did, havent had any shifting issues with mine as of yet. i think there was a post not to long ago about the drill mod, but you might have better luck on ls1tech for that. not a lot of t56 guys here.

it's probably close to 3 ft (i didn't really measure mine while it was out). the plastic line goes from the m/c under the brake booster to the bottom of the firewall, then it connects to the braided line & goes into the slave. it's about half & half plastic to braided



has anyone used an f-body full braided line on their trucks?

this line will work with your t-56. what i did was disconnect the line from the master cylinder and remove it connected to your stock transmission. remove the end of the line from your stock transmission it should be a gold piece that needs to come out there are little teeth that hold it in like a fuel like on the NSB motors once you take that out it will fix perfect into your t-56 slave cylinder. once you install the slave and t-56 in the truck run the line back to your master cylinder reconnect it and lock it in with that little metal roll pin then just get someone to help you bleed your t-56 and your done. stock clutch pedal and master cylinder. heres a picture, the white part needs to be removed from the gold sleeve. and the white part will plug into your t-56 slave cylinder.

I'm think that my original trans is different from yours, my original line is half plastic and half pre-bent hard metal not braided, and it has an actual slave cylinder bolted to the trans insteal of a hydraulic throw out bearing, so i'm thinking i would probably be able to find a new line like the one you mention and it should work.
