    transmission problems...HELP

My grandma has a 95 buick roadmaster with the LT1. I believe it has the same trans as our trucks, so someone here might be able to help.

The car will not shift back down into 1st when stopped. If you stop at a stop sign and try to go again, it bogs, and stays in 2nd or 3rd. If you manually shift to 1, it drives downshifts into 1st fine. The car only has 78,000 miles, and has had perfect upkeep. Trans fluid looks fine, filter was just changed, and it looked good before that.

Grandpa took it to a shop and they told him the pcm was bad, and it wasn't telling the car to downshift. I talked to a guy at the dealership, and he said it sounds like a 1-2 shift solenoid (which is a lot cheaper/ makes more sense to me)

Has anyone had this problem/ have any insight on the issue?

    THANKS

The B and D car in '95 might have OBDII. A portion of the '95's did. I think the those did as well as the Y, F, and C/K cars....at least some.

If there was a SS problem and it's OBDII, the SES would be on. Might make sure the trans fuse has power because electrical default is 3rd (direct drive).
