need help motor options for daily

My truck is a 99 silverado nbs 185k on the clock on a 4.3 Ive always wanted to swap in a v8. But the truck has what i assume are many electrical problems. None of my gauges work. fuel pumps only last about 4 months. The truck shifts right sometimes and then other times its weak or will just tach up and have to let off to shift. The motor and tranny are fine its something electronically thats up.

Its been nothing but a headache for 2 years. I dont want to attempt swapping in a 5.3 and new fuel pump for it to only have more electrical problems. And run like crap after spending loads of money.

I need opinions on what to do with it. ive talked to the bank about finacing a new truck and they want too much since im only 20 and have no credit.

Im to the point that its even crossed my mind to rip everything out and run an old school carb motor. Someone give me some options here. This is my only vehicle and i need it for work.

None of the options you want to hear are going to work with it as your only vehicle. Any kind of major mod takes time. I'd try to just get the electronic issues fixed for now. Worry about making it "all that you want" when you're older and can afford another vehicle.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

Thats the thing for the past 2 years ive traced wires and harness. Cant find anything broken frayed or cut. Have no idea where the problem is. Cant afford to pay someone to do it since they charge a arm and a leg

Have you replaced any parts? If so and the problem is still there you could have afforded to pay someone to diagnose it....provided you have the proper person.

the truck was bagged at one time right? So what wires were cut/lengthened and what was relocated for the bag setup... I would start there with the obvious.

Nothing with the wiring was touched. Also all these problems started before it was bagged. When it was stock.
