newbie with ques 4.8 to 6.0

Ok I am looking for some info for my dad. He has an 02 shortbed 5 speed and is looking to put a 6.0 in it and was wanting to know what all he is going to need. He was wanting to know if he would be able to keep the 5 speed or not or if the was another manuel trans tcase to use?

ok i did this swap on my truck u will use the existing everything its all the same if u buy the same year model 6.0 then your good . But if for instnce you buy a 04 or newer 6.0 the fuel setup will be returnless. the best thing to do is swap the intake and that solves that take ur flex plate from the 4.8 anf put it on your 6.0 other than that its basically plug and play u may have isues with your pcm contact farmtruc for any ?s on that
if you have questions pm me ill give u my number

if he's planning on building up that 6.0, you're gonna be looking for a new transmission not too far down the road. if you wanna keep the manual, you'll need an NV4500, the 6.0 flywheel & clutch & the 3/4 ton t-case (i believe it's the np261). i don't know if the crossmember is the same or not

    come on...
    5.61:1 ain't that bad!
just throw on some 3.23s. you'll have better takeoff than an auto/4.10 & better highway mileage than an auto/3.42

that's where a cam with a really wide operating range comes in handy!
