    1993 lsx swap fuel/starter questions

Ok guys i know i really need to post some pictures but im digital camera poor...

But heres the low down, ive got the 5.3 in the truck all mounted up to the transmission i went to bolt on a lsx type starter and it bolted on but the gear in the starter wont reach the flywheel? The tranny is a 4l60 but doesnt have the shell of a modern day one. The bottom half on the bell housing unbolts just trying to give you an idea of what it looks like/type it is. What are you guys doing about this problem or what type of starter are you using for this swap?

Also i have droped the fuel tank and i have installed my new ac delco fuel pump the one recommended by redheartbeat in his sticky. I want to do a returnless style fuel line set up. When i pulled the tank i noticed that there are four tubes on the top of the fuel pump?? do i just plug up three of them and just use one? which ones do i plug up?

I know it hard to understand what im saying i will try to get a camera as soon as possible.

Thanks for all you help guys!

Pics are gonna help a lot and the 4L60 family of transmissions have had the unit bell housing since the mid-90's so I'm not sure what trans you have. Is this in relation a swap of some kind? The title of the topic suggests so but I was confused by your avatar and signature.

I have a second truck its a 1993 silverado regular cab shortbed. It originally had a 4.3 v6 in it. Hope that clears up your confusion.

Maybe there is a different flexplate for the old style bellhousing that the truck came with.

well i dont know if there would be a difference. I bought a 99-00 6.0l flexplate with spacer and had to have the holes on the flexplate slotted so they would aline up with the torque converter.

Ive been fiddling around with it for awhile and shill can get it to aline up its just about 1/4 of an inche from the flexplate. Would a starter from the 350 that originally came in the truck work?

Wouldn't you have to use a 6.0 starter to reach the flex plate? When I was trying to find a starter for my lq4 it had a different part number than the 5.3 and since your using the 6.0 flex plate maybe that's why its not reaching. The fuel lines on mine I left the supply and return lines there up to where the factory fuel filter was and I spliced in the corvette filter.

    350 starter won't work.
