    Angry Totalled

Well, my truck is totalled. I was driving behind a small car that turned into the driveway of a manufacturing place. I kept going because I assumed that she was just pulling into the driveway but as I got closer I saw she was doing a u turn in the driveway. I slowed down and though she would stop when she saw me coming. As I got really close, her car was facing the road and she pulled out of the driveway RIGHT in front of me. I honked and swerved to avoid hitting her but she clipped my passenger side just behind the door. That caused me to lose contol, slide sideways, overcorrect, slide the other way, and end up on my side in a ditch. The side of the cab is torn open so bad that foam is falling out and the bed is ruined. The state trooper put on the report that it was her fault and gave her a ticket but I am going to have to argue with her insurance probably. The truck is worth between 5,900(KBB) and 6,500(NADA) not counting any of the aftermarket stuff.... This is my first wreck. I'm sure at least a few of you guys have dealt with insurance companies before, what should I do about it? The truck has about $1,500 worth of aftermarket stuff not counting maintenance type things like performance shocks and performance tires and not counting all of the time I spent putting them on. What should I settle for? I would say at least 7,000 but I don't know for sure. I appreciate any help guys.

Id see if you could get the flowmaster and the fans off of it before they totaled it. Then go find you a v8 and enjoy the upgrade... Thats just my opinion...

Dude that sucks! Never really had any bad luck with my insurance adjusters. Guaranteed you're gonna be a small lose. In PA, if you hit them, automatically it's your fault. So if it would have been me, i would have been at a total loss.

Best thing to do is always keep receipts and hope that they will take it into consideration.

Man I feel what your going through, the insurance adjuster just came out today and told me my DD is totaled. He told my I probably wont be getting much extra for the shaved tailgate, rollpan, aftermarket wheels or cd player. He said it only brings the value up a couple hundred bucks because its depreciated value.

My suggestion to you is get everything that is aftermarket off the truck. So you can sell it outright or just have it on hand.
