    700r4 question

In my swap I used the stock 700r4 that had been rebuilt. The kickdown cable is a little short. How would I solve this problem correctly? Right now I have it clamped to the throttle cable from underneath using the little coolant tube as a brace. Is there a more effective method. My truck seems to be having shifting problems.

700r4 doesnt have a kick down cable. has a TV cable and without this properly working your trans will burn up very fast since that controls the shift pressures

You could try a tv cable from a tpi camaro or buy a lokar cable.

Just figure out the length you need and any auto parts store can match one up for you. I used an adjustable detent on my Syclone sinve it's hard to find a factory one.

Actually it's a TV cable but detent and kickdown are terms for the same cable that have been used for years.

THM350's have a kick down. All 700's have a TV (throttle valve) cable. It's more like a combo TPS/PCS than a kick down like a 350.

You and I agree on that but many people out there call it any of the 3. In other words we know what they're trying to say when they ask questions about either. But yes, it's a throttle valve cable..........................
