Don't trust anybody. There have been too many cases where you get something other than what they say it is. Whether it is condition or size of motor or whatever.
Get one that you can verify and try and get a warrenty if possible.
You may want to try machine shops, they usually have blocks there that have been abandon. The machinist usually wants them gone. Wreaking yards would be my last option. I heard of a wreaking yard company that is pretty good though, I just cannot remember the name of it. It was on Trucks tv. (PowerBlock TV)
