GM to close half of its dealerships

GM announced it will be closing about 46% of its dealerships.

Closing 13 plants, 2,600 dealerships, closing Pontiac and trying to sell
Hummer, Saturn and Saab.

Good thing we gave them billions in bailout to "save" them.

you also have to remember that the Pontiac hummer saturn and saab thing is only if they sign with the gov, which is very very very unlikely, but also what are they suppose to do with the dealerships? they are a company they have to stay afloat and yes its very sad that all these people will lose there jobs but there's not much they can do about it....

you also have to remember that the Pontiac hummer saturn and saab thing is only if they sign with the gov, which is very very very unlikely, but also what are they suppose to do with the dealerships? they are a company they have to stay afloat and yes its very sad that all these people will lose there jobs but there's not much they can do about it....

They took bailout money. They have already "signed with gov."

White House has been saying they are going "talk a judge into" doing what
they want since "technically" it has to be decided by a bankruptcy judge.

i cant see how they could ever do that, sounds like more of a rumor than anything i dont think they would be parading around there shady politics, you also have share holder (un like dodge) who have a say in where this goes, also fiat is now looking at some sort of merger with ople (a over seas gm company)

i must be missing something in that article cus all i saw was bankruptcy is more probable and yes i know they want to sell off hummer and saturn either way (they have two buyers for hummer currently) but i dont think they want to totally phase out Pontiac we will just have to wait until june first i guess
