    Question What auto insurance?

So what company do you have auto insurance with? Ever had to make a claim? How smoooth did that go?

I *finally* got my truck running and now i need to get insurance on it. My daily driver is still insured in the town i USED to live in, so i am looking to get a new policy. Just seeing what everyone thought.

I have been thinking of AAA, as I have a membership there already. The Esurance website is really easy to navigate and update with different coverages.

I use Auto and Car Insurance Quotes from Unitrin Direct Auto Insurance I have been in two accidents with them and the claim money took me about 4 days to get. Never had an issue with them and I pay 159 a month for full coverage on two trucks, a motorcycle and a boat

I have progressive. I pay about 220 a month just for full coverage on my truck. I have a couple accidents and a ticket on my record though. State farm dropped me...lol Insurance was 220 a month for liability before some things went off my recod.

State Farm. Discounts for home owner's, I pay $128 per month full coverage both vehicles. Last claim was two years ago....my fault. Smooth process and premium actually went down. Been with the same agent since 1997.

Statefarm hands down... there are other insurance companies out there? Been with them for 15 years now.

AANPAC - TX guys call Jenny Fessler at Distinct Financial Solutions in Denton.

Every insurance company you guys have mentioned will *screw you* if you total your truck, because your truck will go onto their towhook and all the mods you've spent money on will be lost and the insurance company will not pay you for them at all. Case in point, good friend of mine here in Plano has his Silverado SS stolen in February, he was covered by State Farm - when he took out the policy he specifically asked the agent, would his mods be covered as well including nitrous, stereo, roll pan, exhaust, rims, speedster cover, etc and the agent said yes they would pay above the market value of the truck... when he made the claim long story short they told him they would give $1500 for $10K+ in mods (he had receipts) and take it or leave it.

The reason I say AANPAC is because if you keep your truck nice and have a second vehicle for daily driver then you can put your truck on a specialty policy and they will appraise your truck (have receipts) and in the case of a total you will be paid the agreed value of the truck. Saying it this way, I have been modding my truck over 5 years now and if my truck is stolen they will cut me a check for $45K; and the cost of the policy is only $15 more per month than when I had my truck and daily driver covered by Allstate's crappy coverage.

If you have that much in mods you need a rider in most cases with any company.

Well since I am in the body shop business and deal with adjusters all the time. I see which insurance companies will pay to fix the cars right, and which wont.

    I would not recommend
    Gieco
    Progressive

The best out there BY FAR is
    State Farm

Some others that are really good when it comes to fixing your car is
    Germania
    Farmers
    AllState

Remember you get what you pay for. If you pay for cheap insurance they will fix your car cheaply. I do know that Gieco now has a thing where any aftermarket part you put on your vehicle, you have to note it to them, from body to engine, or they wont cover it. My friend just had a wreck and it was his first claim in over 8 years with Gieco. He had 23" rims on his truck and one got messed up. The rim is about $900 new. The only thing they would pay him for was a remanufactured stock 17 inch rim for $123.
