    98 4.3 Vortech to 97 5.7 Vortech Wiring Problems

    Hi,

I put a 97 Vortech 5.7 into my 98 Chevy 1500 2WD. I used the wiring harness and the computer from the 97 truck. My truck runs ok, but the gauges won't work, and the horn goes off when I push the brake pedal.

What is the difference in the wiring harnesses between the years, and can I get an adaptor kit that will fix the problems?

Thanks for the help and advice!

There's a ground issue in the dash. The horn operates by completing a ground circuit in the column.
