    waiting for opening day

Ok so the local track is opening back up on April 4th. I want to put my little 4.3 in the high 14's (haha lame i know), I'm already trying to put a little "kit" together for about a 100 shot, making a homemade CAI and a little better exhaust soon enough. Unless I stumble upon a small miracle a tune isn't in the financial cards. Think it can do it? Oh BTW it'll be my first trip down the track in a 4 wheeled vehicle

i ran my 04 V6 RCSB back in the day and i think it ran like 17.3-17.6 bone stock.

100 shot will make it move for sure but I don't think it'll make it to 14's. better up it to 125 shot.

bein a 5 speed I think I can get a little better time stock than if it was auto launch a little higher. I was thinkin maybe like 16.9 17 flat stock

if your not doing a tune better make it a wet shot. i dont know how big the injectors or fuel system is on the 4.3 trucks. you dont wanna spray a dry and the maf tell it to add more fuel and its not there.

i had a 94 5 speed 4.3 tbi that i got to run 16.2 back in the day. i was very impressed seeing it ran 18's when i first got it haha. im sure a little shot would have helped it a bunch seeing it didnt have a powerband AT ALL there was no sweet spot it was striaght slow lol

the more i think about it the better a wet shot would be your right, the 4.3 does have a piss porr excuse of a fuel system but they run pig rich from the factory so i was told I could probably safely pull a 150 shot, so i want 100 just to keep it safe.

Probably need some better gears too. Anyone tossin away a set of 3.73's to replace my 3.23's? I'd love to do this with leftover parts from the guys on this site

With a 100 it won't see 15's with a 5-speed....I'm guessing. Good luck and keep it together.

    15.3 @ 90 Jeff?

it doesnt have enough power to pull better then 2.1 most likely. how long is your thrid gear right now mph wise? unbolt exhuast at y pipe, took out air filter, gut interior, front bumper, tailgate, back bumper, spare... plasma cut roof off, unbolt bed, fenders drop the brakes.. its a manual u can downshift and you might have the first 13 second fullsize v6 lol
