At how many miles should the shocks be replaced? I have an 04 ECSB that has never pulled or really hauled anything heavy. Kinda the point of having a truck isn't it? Oh yeah, I've got about 80K on it.

Everyone is gonna say something different. But a 'common' mileage is around 60K. But you can try things like the bounce test as well to help determine. When purchasing your shocks, remember that there are many applications. Ex) Monroe Reflex for SUV's and trucks which makes them stiff.

Bouncing front and rear of vehicle with all your body weight until its really goin and let go, shouldn't go up and down no more than 2 times before it stops

just did it and it only bounced twice. I guess I can go without replacing the shocks for a little longer. My neighbors were probably wondering what the hell I was doing. LOL

I have the stock shocks on both mine. The Blazer came with Bilsteins ($250 each new) that have held up fine for 210K miles. The Denali has air shocks from the factory in the back and they're very expensive. It's rare we ever replace them in the shop for mileage. Usually there's a noise or a leak. The bounce test works good.
WOW, I didn't think shocks lasted that long.
