    stroker

    so i have a lq4, it needs a rebuild.

so instead of selling it i thought, hey, how about i throw it in s13 240sx (same style that was on pinks when quik was the negotiator for that team, the yellow 240 with the ls1(?))

anyways, if i am going to be rebuilding it, why not stroke it, i know that a 408 is very common, but how big can you actually go with bore and stroke?

Why put it in a 240?.... But it depends on how big the bore is and what not...when mine is all said and done it will be a 4.04 bore and have a 4.00 stroke...that yields just over a 414ci motor...depending on who you talk to 4.04 is "the most you can bore it out" but I have heard of guys takin them out to 4.06+....

240s are light weight and a dime
    a
    dozen..
They don't look that bad,and would be a fun swap, especially if a older 240z was used

curious to how you figured 414 with just .010 more over then a 408? i thought 4.06 was 414 and the 4.04 was a 410

    yeah, 4.04 w/4" stroke = 410.

    4.06 bore w/4.1" stroke = 425

so quik, any words of advice, being you are well versed on the 240 swap?

i would love to use a z car, when i see when in a parking lot, i just cant stop thinking about stuffing a ls1 or similar in it.

btw this will be my first v8 build, so bare with me here

here is what i have planned so far. stroked lq4 (unsure to what size yet)
bigger cam (also unsure of this yet) with p-rods valves springs keepers retainers to match, ls6 intake, lt headers,

i would prolly say like 3k. but like i said im not sure yet what all i am going to do engine wise, i can get parts at wholesale price so that helps me alot.

i might even just say srew my lq4 back home, and just buy a ls1 here in phoenix. south dakota is along way to bring a motor.
