    Need a Virus protection program

    Any suggestions? I bought a compaq Laptop last night. Paid like $550 out the door for a decent setup. Im looking for a good, cheap virus protection deal. Thanx

    Avast is the best free AV out there...AVG use to be.

    I use symantec corporate...i dunno how much its supposed to cost

    norton home products are way different than symantec corporate. I know its the same company but different products. i can tell you mine is not a "system hog"

    I got symantec corp on mine, and yeah I dont know how much it costs either... haha its nice working at the IT department at school

    I run Norton IS and dont have the problems everyone talks about..but alot like that AVG free edition..And Norton IS is about $65

    You can either pay for full real time protection or you can just have this scan for free and it does just as well as the name brand ones.

    Panda antivirus, spyware doctor with antivirus, or kapersiki are great antivirus programs to use.my brother works for the geek squad at best buy and they suggest any of the above programs to use as some of the best ones to get.
