i dont think a handheld programmer can bypass the governor if there is one on there...is that what youre asking? maybe im misunderstanding you
I think it can. I did on my 99z71 when I was dumb and didnt know about custom tunes.
DANIEL CAMMED SS 13.46 @ 98.17-- 8.58 @ 80.31
2003 Silverado SS / LQ9 6.0L / Wheatley 93 Octane Tune / 224/228 .581 .588 110lsa / Patriot Gold Dual Springs / Comp Hardened Push Rods / Circle D 3800 stall / Pacesetter LT's / 4:10 Gears / Transgo HD-2 Shift Kit / K & N Cold Air Intake / Corvette Servo / Aeroforce Interceptor / Autometer Narrorband(Wideband on the way) / Mobile 1 Synthetic / Single Chamber Flows with X Pipe / Cats Delete with Cutouts
well either way, getting a custom tune would be the better decision...its not much more than the handheld to begin with and produces 1000000000000000 times better results
yea thats what i was asking. i've heard of poeple buying programmers to remove the govenors on the 96 and newer trucks to make them do more than 100 mph
yes it will....
and i dont think u can tune a truck unless it is 98-up with hpt....for u other guys that mentioned a custom tune
what about a mail order nelson tune?
i thought it said 98-up
edit:...it says 96-up...sorry...i guess i was wrong on that one
I really agree with the nelson tune. More for your money, and you can get it retuned when you add to you engine.
The handheld ones I've looked at do all say they can remove the speed govenor.
