    Convert to AWD?

Sooner or later with my new lowered setup would it be better to convert to an AWD? Ill be going turbo later, but I dont know if AWD will hurt the truck in anyway and what not. I never use the 4x4 and probably wont ever again, but Im just asking for knowledge purposes

    No. Please...

It won't work anyway without a lot of custom crap. Look at what came AWD and what came 4WD....and the differences.

I myself think it would be easier for me to install a manual shift transfer case and run in 2WD most of the time. Sure I'd have to crawl underneath when it snows or sleets once or twice a year but so what? My garage rarely sees the south side of 60 because of my insulated doors.

It would be a pain to convert it over for shure and not worth it since you have a 4x4 the dmax guys launch in 4x4 all the time and that works fine. I do love my awd (i feel sure i will be criticized for this) but its just the driving experience i guess, its not faster in any way plus rwd can be set up to launch really good.

I must admit I like mine too and it works well for my wife (it's hers) in slippery conditions but burnout are a bitch and I can't run on a dyno.

If you have an autotrac it is as simple as pushing the auto 4wd button when you need it. Thats what I do. Every time it rains or I want to smoke a mustang. Best of both worlds. I do love the awd system I have a TBSS that has it and it is great. The wife drives it. Any time she has to drive my truck I hit the auto 4wd button and let her have it. Other wise at part throttle she is smoking the tires.

I do have the floor shifter. When I launch in 4wd though do I just launch all the way down the track in it? Or When do I shift out when I need to? Srry Track Noob here..Only raced Twice on a 2wd

You can leave it in 4WD HI for the entire run, but you can usually shift out of it once you hit 2nd gear...

FLoor shifter. Not good. I might would switch to awd. Or get rid of it all together.
