    New guy from Cali

hey guys whats goin on my name is robert and im from Cali. I have a 1997 pickup that currently has a 4.3 v6 and a 4l60e in it. I recently picked up a ls6 out of a ctsv and a trans from a 3/4 ton chevy pick up both came from a 04 vintage. I have contacted a few different companies about doing the swap. I think for my harness im going to go through current they seem to know what they are doing when it comes to the epa issue here in my state. The only thing is i have been looking for motor mounts and havent really sorced a set of them yet. Well, thats a little about me ill hit up the normal forums just given you guys a heads up.

yeah im a diy kinda guy plus i have a really good friend that owns a shop and is willing to let me use the lift on the weekends. I was hoping for something fast or to alteast get the job done quickly thats why im trying to do a lot of r and d before i jump into the swap i would like to have it done in a few weekends its just a matter of getting everything together, like drive line, motor mounts fuel lines, harness to hook it all up. I think it will be a pretty impressive swap if i finish it considering its a single cab pick up. The only thing the truck has going for it now is the rear end its a 3.73 eaton posi with new axles, but with 405 hp who knows what will break i can only pray im sure at some point ill have to swap it to a currie built 9inch or something

where is everyone buying their mounts from? If i got the truck to run around the 13's i would be over joyed plus the fuel milage would be interesting to see. I dont think the swap would be my biggest problem i think the Cali epa would be tuff i think if i got it done it would be an act of god and more then proud of myself.

Welcome Robert. We should be able to help ya for most of the swap. Like Lambo siad--check out Nelson Performance for the harness. For the motor mounts, check out Trans Dapt Performance Products - Trans Dapt Homepage. The mounts should look like these. As for the driveline, you should be good with mating the 60e onto the LS6. Its just the motor mounts you need to worry about. The rear end and gears will be fine for now. It would be a good idea to add a Corvette servo and a shift kit to the tranny now. There are relatively cheap and easy to do. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
