After one day with the new tranny work and stall in Im driving. See my friend. Stop talk with him. Show him the new rims. As I pull off I give it some gas. Lil more than Half throttle. Bout the time its going to shift to 2nd and BOOM. CLANG CLANG RATTLE. Truck stops pulling. I pull over get out. Look under truck. Nothing is hanging. Get back in NO 1st,2nd,3rd, or Reverse... (or park come to find out) So my friend I was talkin to swings back by. Under the truck 1st gear spins the driveshaft but truck doesnt move. Drive doesnt spin the drive shaft though. Reverse Spins the driveshaft.... But truck wont move. HOW MUCH DID I BREAK?!?!? Being from this point I am thinking the tranny and the rear end blew up. Anyone want to get rid of either a 14 bolt with 4.10 gears with a posi or even a 10 bolt with 4.10s and a a posi. The Trans SHOULD be under warranty. It says I have 30 day warranty. So hopefully the only money I will be without is the rear end. Guys pitch in some info. Im in the dark and in WAY over my head.

As soon as I can Ill post up the pics if i can ever get a account on the photo hosting right. The rearend is COMPLETELY shot. You can stick your hand completely through one side of the what was a carrier. Then the other side has a hole about the same size as a ping pong ball in it.Looks like someone threw a grenade in there. O yeah. previous owner lied. Not a after market rearend. Just the normal G80 or whats left of it with aftermarket 4.10 gears. Is that why I have heard of it referd to as the bomb?
Tranny wise. DRIVE does not work. only 1st and reverse. If drive doesnt spin the driveshaft does that mean the tranny when bye bye too?

nope just 1st and reverse

That means there's more than one thing broken inside the trans too. Sprag and band or band and 3-4 clutches. At least the low and reverse clutch pack is OK.

Wow big explosion then. Guess Ill be pulling them both this week. The rearend rebuild just parts from Summit is going to be about a grand. The tranny BETTER be under warranty. Says it is.

For real. This is actually far past what I THOUGHT was my worse case scenario. Ill be lookin up info on pulling the trans tomar. For now I have a headache from thinking of my bank account between this and christmas.

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully where you got the tranny they will warranty it.
